Re: 2023 Fox purchases and trades
I sold six guns (no foxes) and bought an early 50's era Browning Superposed that was factory chambered IC/M just because it tickled my fancy. It looks good next to my Winchester 21. I used to have a very early FN Superposed Pigeon grade with an English stock and double triggers that I stupidly trade...

Re: Model 12 32” Vent Rib
Frank, I was not at the Vintagers. I had just gotten back from bear hunting and had other obligations. Thanks though, good to know they are still out there but definitely hard to find. I have about 15 boxes on the shelf and a pile of loose ones in my pit bag so I'm pretty well stocked up. I also hav...

Yowzah!
Anybody want to buy it? LOL!
Thanks for the information. I knew it was interesting but had no idea it could be worth that much. I paid the barn find price.

Re: Dreaming of Hunting with my new Fox
Congrats to you and your son! A few in my group mentioned seeing grouse but not me. I saw 3 coyotes, and a bunch of racoons. The song dogs were the biggest I've ever seen. We were told the area goes crazy opening week of "Partridge" season. I was told that they see a lot of road hunters wh...

Re: Harry B. Fisher & Co., Philadelphia / Hand loaded Shells
I found this information in a thread by Frank (Silvers) Srebro from 2018. I should have checked here first instead of the internet. It seems he was a known shooter, owner of fox guns and ran a sporting goods store. "Harry Fisher was a good shooter and long-time Secretary of the Clearview Gun Cl...

Harry B. Fisher & Co., Philadelphia / Hand loaded Shells
I was able to purchase this interesting two piece shotgun shell box recently. It's from Harry B. Fisher & Co. 7125 Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia. What was especially interesting to me was the advertisement for L.C Smith, A.H. Fox and Parker on the top lid in the lower left corner. I've never see...

Re: Dreaming of Hunting with my new Fox
Good memory Fred. I have a CSMC 20-gauge slug double that I was thinking of bringing. Instead, I brought a Savage 99 in .300 savage and a 12-gauge Benelli Super Black Eagle dedicated slug gun. The night before at orientation, my outfitter said that if he had a choice, he'd take the Benelli, since it...

Re: Dreaming of Hunting with my new Fox
I know this thread veered way off topic but I thought I'd give it a conclusion. My wife's favorite part of the trip was me bringing her back a 50 lb. sack of taters! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53163097760_d5e12f62a9_c.jpg We also had the obligatory lobster feast the last night. 4 - 3.5 +/- ...

RST 7.5's or 8's if you can get them.
Maybe 6's for grouse in late season.

Re: Dreaming of Hunting with my new Fox
Good luck, I'll be using my Savage 99R in .300 Savage with 180 grain Core-Lockt's as my primary gun.
Should be plenty good enough for Black Bears.
