There are disassembly instructions under the mechanism listing on the home page. Only takes a couple times and you'll be doing it with your eyes closed. Whatever you do, don't saturate the insides with oil.

Bobby, my buddy swears by the Brownell's Gun Sav'r stock spray finish. I am partial to hand rubbing and sanding with the oil only because blending repairs is easier. What do you prefer or think? Chris

I never thought of that Bobby. I usually recut the checkering, mask it off and then sand and rub in the linseed. How many coats do you sand in?
