Re: American Arms Co.

I do remember seeing one or two of those side swinging doubles and were called fox. They sure didn't look that nice.

Thanks for showing us the other one. It sure looks elegant.

And were George H. Fox and Ansley H. Fox related? Probably not.

I can't ever remember seeing one of those George Fox doubles. They look pretty darn nice.

Thanks for showing us Dave.

And if anybody else might have one or two in their gun racks, or good pictures that they would like to share, please do so.

Re: New to fox / Should I restore?

Nice guns with a lot of history/memories. You’ll find that there are a lot of “purists” in this group. If they pass inspection, many of us would encourage you to keep them in original condition. Enjoy them just as you grandfather did. I’ll be driving to the Southern from Michigan. Hope to see you t...

That's from using locally made (Rochester, NY) Kodak film.

Just kidding John. Standard digital stuff. Kodak doesn't make much film anymore, sadly.

eightbore wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 5:06 pm Dave, was the guarantee message stamped on 20 gauge Super Foxes? If so, what was the guarantee that was stated?
Here's another HE20 with the marking. This one is SN'ed 202290. The one Loggy/John posted a picture of is 202292.

Re: My first Fox.

WW, Congratulations on your first Fox. It's quite possible you will acquire more. By the way, you have an early Sterlingworth. The early ones like yours are called "Pin Guns" because of the exposed hinge pin. It is also called a "Model 1911" and you will probably see that marked ...

I put this sticky note on my computer monitor, I'm trying to hold out. Tens days into 2024 and I'm holding the line. Please don't tempt me LOL!!! I see you put an additional strip of Scotch tape just to be sure. However, both can be easily removed under the right circumstances with very little effo...
