Atta Boy Steve

I want to give credit where credit is due so I would like to give our Most Honorable Executive Director Steve Cambria a Big Atta Boy for tagging that nice 8 point buck pictured below on the January page of the 2025 Winchester Arms Collector Association calendar. No, he didn’t get it with a Fox but a...

Wild Wings wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2024 5:16 am Thank you guys. I'm really enjoying that old Fox. For a 113 year old gun it still locks up tight and fits me very well too. The bismuth ammo is pricey and hard to find though so I can't take it out every time but only on special days.

I agree - great picture of your dog with that teal.

Your Model 1911 Pin Gun looks pretty good too.

Re: William W. Headrick

Jolly, can you elaborate on what Coot Island Gun Club was.thanks  I can elaborate some and maybe other CIGC members/Researcher can add to it. It was a membership in which you were invited to join. I'm thinking requirements of being a fan of nice old stuff: Fox and other nice old classical sho...

Re: William W. Headrick

Really sad to hear that. He and his dad were truly wonderful people. I did some trading with both of them and have a lot of correspondence and pictures including a Coot Island Gun Club membership card.

Yes, sad to hear that and may he rest in peace.

Absolutely, nothing better . . . .

And some great hunting companions to share it with.

Re: Fox A Grade 16 Gauge Input or Info

awilk0810,

Also, it very likely has 2 9/16 inch chambers so be careful shooting current production 2 3/4" ammo out of it.

And as Jeff suggests above, share some more info on the gun. It looks like a very nice one.

Re: Drain hole plugged with solder

In the Sept 10 Morphy catalog lot #1486 is a model 21 DUCK with two barrels. In the description of each barrel is says " Drain hole plugged with solder". That's a new one on me. Forearm? Barrel lumps? Can anyone explain this? Thanks, Bill Bill, I think they be referring to a hole that may...

Re: Ok to ask about older shotgun shells ?

Hi Paul, Thanks for posting those pictures. Much nicer than what I was anticipating. You have some nice boxes in nice shape. They would look great on shelves in your gun room alongside some nice Fox's, Parker's, Ithaca's and such. And thanks Frank for your very thoughtful Reply. Makes good sense in ...
