Right barrel stamped special alloy - forged steel Left barrel stamped Savage Arms Corporation, Utica, NY, U.S.A. also, Proof tested - 12 guage,- 2 3/4 inch chamber-. I have a flat sided sterlingworth, # 132854. It was shipped from Utica on June 29, 1939. In my letter JTC writes, " This double would have been built at a time when Savage was using up available SP frames."
