Re: serialxxx
I've always been at a loss myself to understand why someone would not want the entire serial number revealed. I doubt it has anything to do with stolen firearms being reclaimed, but like I said, I've never been able to understand why complete serial numbers should be shrouded in such mystery. Some p...

Re: refinishing stock
I found a good deal of helpful info on stock refinishing in the "technicana and restoration forum" a few years ago when I refinished the stock of a cheap sterly 12 picked up at auction. Lots of things people have tried, some more helpful than others, posted throughout the forums. I ended u...

Re: An URGENT message to all AHFCA parties....
Sorry, ended up posting a reply before I was finished. What I'm trying to convey is that I can understand your frustration, but don't feel I should be shamed or bullied into attending events. I'm not a shooter, I'm a student and collector of all things Fox. I have an unexplainable and uncontrollable...

Re: An URGENT message to all AHFCA parties....
Seems like quite a scolding, what am I missing here? As a paying member of this association am I agreeing to participate in club sponsored events? No one has ever said to me "we don't want your dues if you can't attend any events". I understand what your saying, I'm sure it's frustrating t...

Re: Remington 2 5/8" shells
Thank you for the info. The guy selling them thought they were 1970's era. I'm not really up to speed on my ammunition history but was pretty sure these shells were a bit earlier than that.
Jeff S, that was my thought as well, can't go wrong with that asking price.

Remington 2 5/8" shells
I attended a small gun show this morning and picked up this full box for $5.00. I have an HE and a CE that Savage re chambered at some point for 2 3/4" and have always used such shells in both of them without much concern. I don't do a lot of shooting and so have also used the 2 3/4" with ...

AHFCA member dues and apparel
Hi all, looking for a link or instructions for paying member dues. I joined during the latter part of 2015 and haven't had to renew yet, but as 2016 winds down I want to be sure I get my payment in. I can find no way to renew membership, only links to join. Am I missing something really simple here?...

Re: Chamber markings question
Does the later added gauge and chamber length stamping on the barrels make the gun less desirable from a collector standpoint? I have a CE with the 12 ga.-2 3/4 chamber stamp like the ones pictured and like knowing Savage chambered the gun for 2 3/4 inch shells......from a shooting standpoint. Just ...

Re: Barrel removal
Should not have to remove any screw from forend for dis-assembly. Sounds like somebody did their own "fix" to tighten the forend wood to the iron. I think by your description that you are simply removing the wood and leaving the iron and latching mechanism behind. The whole forend and latc...

Re: Barrel removal
Gun should be closed, insert finger into space between forend wood and barrels and pull tip away from barrels. This usually requires a pretty good amount of pressure but is only held in place by spring tension. The forend must come off to remove the barrels, once removed simply open the action and t...

Re: year Fox made?
I wondered how long it would take that A Grade to show up here. Congratulations on the purchase rollbac. Didn't take long at all did it? I also attended the auction it sold at hoping to steal it.....I knew it was worth more than my budget would allow but sometimes you get lucky. Congratulations on ...

Re: Early B grade
Thanks for the help with the pictures Researcher. I think it probably would be a bit easier if I were using a PC, but only use one (on an as needed basis) at work. From home I'm trying to do this on a tablet which seems to make things a bit more challenging. I noticed the missing rib when I previewe...
