Re: Super Fox Pamphlet

Craig, thanks for sharing. I’ll have to go back through my other catalogs again. I wonder if it was really “English” walnut given how most of the Super Foxes I’ve seen have relatively plain wood. Perhaps that was deliberate given what they were built for and the loads they were meant to digest. Brett

Re: Double Gun Journal

We have been working on a fireplace conversion at our cabin. It has taken way longer than I would have liked. It’s difficult to get anything done when you depend on other people. The fireplace should be done on Tuesday. The DGJ reader will be have some good information when it finally arrives. Defi...

Super Fox Pamphlet

Attended the MI Antique Arms Collector Show last Saturday. While the size of the show continues to decline it still has some great guns and associated items. As I was walking the show I noticed this pamphlet, pricing sheet and envelope. The post mark on the envelope is December 1924 and the price sh...

Re: OGCA Fox Sightings

Frank, your points are all well taken. I have done several Fox displays at local shoots at my own expense, time and trouble. My personal goal when I do these is to bring awareness to others about A.H. Fox guns and try to encourage shooting, hunting and collecting Fox guns. Yes, time and expense but ...

OGCA Fox Sightings

Attended the Ohio Gun Collectors Association show this past weekend. Good attendance and activity. The Winchesters Collector’s and the German Gun Collector’s Associations had great displays with some great guns. Saw several nice Fox guns including a flat out mint 20 gauge Sterlingworth and a nice 12...

Re: Ridiculously heavy loads

At the time those shells were manufactured, Dad’s only gun capable of handling 3” shells was the infamous Marlin goose gun. IMG_3179.jpeg I don’t know why but I have an affinity for those Marlin Goose guns!! I have never owned one, am not a water fowler but every time I see one I have to stop and l...

Re: Hunting Season(s) Approaching - What gun(s) will go with you for opening day?

Today was the traditional Michigan Grouse opener. Unfortunately in the Lower Peninsula on the West side of the state it was warm for September standards. It was 80 degrees where I’m at by 10:00 a.m. Rosey and I opted to do an early morning hike/run and then spend some time fishing from the dock. Her...
