Not so technical question - butt pad screw plugs

All, I have a Fox gun w/a Silvers type pad on it. One of the screw hole plugs is loose and wants to slip out while in use. Were these plugs simply friction fitted or were they glued/attached by some other means. What the best way to assure fitment without making a mess of the pad and making it acces...

That is a great looking Tom and Sterlingworth! I’d say you’ve given that gun a great workout since you purchased it and it sounds like it’s been a great field companion! Congrats

Re: Are you headed to the Southern?

what can you tell us about the shot tower? Years ago while duck hunting, Dad would always explain to us the early process of making lead shot. Molten lead goes through a screen and drops down the tower into a pool of water. Fortunately, I just took pictures of the plaque in front of the towe...

Re: What to do with this 20 gauge Fox Sterlingworth?

Orpington, What is your concern about Savage/Utica vs. Philly gun? As Researcher said that gun is all Philly components. Possibly a gun that was all ready serial numbered and in the white when Savage purchased Fox. Hard to say for sure. I would not rely on the Lightner published serial number chrono...

Re: A Fox Dilemma

Paramedic86,
While no longer a “collector” grade gun I’m in the camp of leaving the chokes alone on that gun. 32” barrels born with F/XF are just meant to be left alone IMHO. However, as others have mentioned it’s your gun do what makes you happy and post pics of that sweet gun!!

Always Good to Connect w/Fox Enthusiast

Spent the weekend at the Tulsa Wannemacher Arms Show. If you’ve never attended it’s totally worth the trip. Saw several fellow fox shooters/collectors. Got to spend most the weekend w/Yellow564 (Frank Holley) and enjoyed a lengthy conversations with Foxist (Paul Plunket) on many things Fox, Ithaca a...
