Re: Repairing a forend lug
Thanks to both Stan and Frank for the thoroughness and explanation of the issue with pics and of course the suggested remedy by Frank on the repair. As I’ve said before I’m not skilled at work/repairs such as this but I still learn from these types of postings. Very informative!

Re: Super Fox Patterning Results
Caleb, thanks for the info and report/pics of your results. While all three look good and would do the trick the concentration of the Winchester load is impressive!! A good reminder for us all to pattern each gun we choose to hunt with. Given the variation in bore size, choke constriction and chambe...

Re: Yooper Classic
Hopefully someone who has shot up there before can provide some feedback. It conflicts with my local RGS Chapter banquet and have never had the pleasure of shooting it. I hear it is a blast!!

Re: An XE 16 Ga. Collaboration by Jim Demunck & Walter Koulach
Superbly done and overall a great Fox. I certainly understand and value "to each his own" but if that were my Fox I'd be shooting and hunting with it as soon as completed. It's not like it's an original high condition historical piece. A safe sitter investment? No, I'd get way more return...

Jolly Bill,
Thanks for reaching out to Jim and adding his info here, very cool to see him pull it all together for us. I’m usually not an “upgrade” guy but I have an affinity to this gun because of Mr. Demunck’s and Mr. Koulach’s hands being on this gun and the thought that went into it. Great stuff!!

Re: An XE 16 Ga. Collaboration by Jim Demunck & Walter Koulach
That’s a beautiful gun. It appears that the barrels may have been re-stamped.Or could one have ordered Chromox barrels on a Sterlingworth for an additional charge? Joe, that’s a good question that I don’t have an answer for. I’d assume that they have been re-stamped as I don’t believe you could get...

Re: Savage Era 16 Gauge Appreciation Day!
I'm always intrigued by the many variations of checkering patterns, especially on the fore ends of Fox guns. Seems there was not much rhyme or reason and the stock checkers just went with how they felt a particular day. I have a factory beavertail ejector fore end that doesn't remotely match any of...

Re: Savage Era 16 Gauge Appreciation Day!
These three guns are all two barrel sets. 1. A Grade Philly 16 gauge with second set of Chicopee Falls factory set of barrels. I’ve shared this gun previously as it is my go to grouse/woodcock gun 80% of the time. While the original gun is Philly I appreciate the versatility of the second set of Chi...

Savage Era 16 Gauge Appreciation Day!

Originally ordered w/DW Pad now has Jostam Hy-Gun pad 2. Sterlingworth 16 w/30” barrels - while Savage era it has the Phill...

Re: An XE 16 Ga. Collaboration by Jim Demunck & Walter Koulach
Beautiful gun. One interesting aspect of the project is the donor Sterlingworth ejector gun had the traditional friction/snap on forearm. It still retains the snap on forend iron and lug but Mr. Demunck and Mr. Koulach cleverly inletted an A&D style forend latch per the owner’s request. Does th...
