Re: Something different - Winchester 97 with Vent Rib

In Tom Roster's "Search for a 100% pattern" series years ago the only gun to do so, or maybe I'm mis-remembering and it got to 99%, at 40 yrds in a 30" circle was an 1897 with an Ounce and a quarter of "Hard" dueces at 1220 fps buffered, I believe.

Grind them Frank!

Re: Oldest Engraved Remington Autoloader

Thanks Stan,

One of the main reasons I limit my collecting to pre-1914 Model 11's!

One of the best I own an early B Grade or No. 2 Remington Autoloading Shotgun.

Oldest Engraved Remington Autoloader

Thought I bring up the topic in case someone knows of an Earlier One! Just getting around to posting a few photos of a gun I happened on earlier this year. Very unique engraving but in line with the earliest catalogs you can see that Remington looked to FN (Browning) but quickly developed a dominant...

Re: Nash Buckingham Duck Call

I corrected my earlier photo. That call is a Tom May. Russell's Carved Perry Hooker looks more like the famous Beckeart carved calls and i don't have a photo of it on my computer. Here's one I picked up from the intranet. Will Perry Hooker Carved Call from Guyette and Deeter auction. Hooker Carved C...

Re: Nash Buckingham Duck Call

Craig, I believe you are thinking of Perry Hooker, Nash wrote of his calling, call making and tuning expertise. The most notable "Checkered" Calls of Nash's time would have been those of American Bottoms' ILL transplant to Reelfoot Lake's Starve Island Camp Victor Glodo Jr. Like the one th...

Re: Remington Model 17

First for me.

It is a later production gun of course, but certainly couldn't be factory since the screws are out of time! Lol

Let us know what you turn up!

Bonifide Rem 31 TC Long Range "Style"

Guys another what I would consider "Factory" Long Range barrel example just changed hands on TS.com. Notice there are no other choke marking in the normal areas, in my mind suggesting the barrel was selected and bored to long range specifications prior to any other borings. Scott was kind ...

Remington Ammo PSA

Guys I know this is not a firearm but thought some of you might be interested to know that the Remington STS Pigeon Load has been reintroduced as the "Nitro Pigeon" and is now showing up in stock at several on-line retailers. Proper pigeon loads: 3.25 Dr 1.25 ounce 1220 fps. Good shooting,...

Re: Does anyone have familiarity with these individuals?

Bret it appears to be in an 8"x11" format from the picture, is that true?

That Publication was originally in full News Print size, it would narrow the search if we can narrow down this for me.

Thanks, Will

Re: Remy Model 11-C Trap

Great guns, thanks for posting Craig.

Most C grades appear to have seen a lot of use as you indicated, those that show up pristine typically have had their share of cosmetic surgery! Lol

PS. Really like your answer to keeping the weight off of the recoil pad!

Re: More Duck Call Stuff

This was in the mid-to-late 90's. Mark is a class act and always had top-notch dogs running in the Grand. I am down working around Slidell and need to take out that direction on one of the weekends that I am stuck in a hotel and try to look some of that group up. Thanks for reminding me of good time...
