Re: Engraver William H. Gough

If you can find a copy of "The Sporting Goods Dealer", Febuary 1920, you will find a picture of him on page 61. Good luck fnding it.

Re: Serial numbers

The grade should be marked on the watertable if it is a graded gun.

Re: What's In Your Butt

Mike, you might try some lead wool, as it is easy to work with and it packs tight and you can put a little in at a time and easy removed.

Re: Kautzky Trigger conundrum....

I don't think they would use any meas. other than from trigger to butt, regardless where trigger is located (as Craig said)and I might add there are 3 positions for the trigger, front, center and rear.

Re: F grade numbers

Jess, Roe Clark said that in 16 ga.'s there were 33 "D"'s and 3 "F"'s, and in 20 ga.'s there were 59 "D"'s and 9 "F"'s. I do not know if this exact or not, but thats what he came up with in 1992. I have nothing on 12's (Craig, where art thou?)

anti-flinch

Craig, just find an old sterlingworth with a good pad and swap it out, the fellow would probably love to have a nice new modern pad on it. If fact I happen to know where theres an "H" #31532 that has a anti-flinch pad on it.?
