Re: Which one would it be???

Because I mostly hunt Woodcock it would be the meat gun 20 gauge upgraded Sterly. If I hunted out more in Nebraska it would be a 30 inch 16 gauge Sterly ejector because of running into more Pheasant.

Re: Breech Face and Ejectors

John L wrote: Thu Apr 03, 2025 8:46 pm Thanks. I will check. I played around with it some more and from the looks of it the ejectors definitely “re-cock” from closing against the breech face. Im not the most mechanical but I can’t see any other way that they reset.
Both ejector guide pins intact?

Re: Hausmann’s June 2025

The Skyline is a mile or so west of downtown Tunkhannock and closer to Hausmann's via Meshoppen and PA 267, and also is good lodging for those coming to Rock Mountain's Northern Side-by-Side in July. It's not a high end chain hotel like Hampton etc in Tunk but offers reasonable pricing and is close...

Re: Sterlingworth barrel

You can use sterlingworth or graded snap on forend if you do not want to change lug.Bobby Correct me if I'm wrong Bobby, but the snap on graded forearms were only on the earliest 20 and 16 gauge. So if you have have a sterly 20 or 16 gauge barrel it will fit on a early small bore graded gun only.

Re: Sterlingworth barrel

Forearm lug needs to be removed from the Sterly barrel and replaced with a graded lug. Good smith can do it. I almost did it on a 20 gauge before I found a graded barrel.

These guns are a bit hard to find. They are silky smooth. Years ago I saw one that was engraved by Ken Hurst I believe. It was amazing.

Re: 2025 Southern Side X Side Championship and Exhibition

Jeff,
I will bring the meat and the pot 20 gauge Sterly upgrade to and AE grade. I'll see if I can print out a picture or two of things the old girl has taken down. I post about it all the time, might as well show up with it.

I think she would be a great pheasant dog also. Those Labs can do a lot of things well.

Re: ejector fore end availability

I have been told by a couple of stock makers that it is every bit as much work to inlet and shape a smallbore Ansley H. Fox ejector forearm as to make a stock and very hard to charge as much as they should for that little piece of wood! Indeed. If I mention restocking a Fox with an extractor forear...

Wish they made this in 5 and 6 shot. Suspect it would be an excellent Pheasant and Sharptail load.

Re: Little walk in the woods.

Back at it today. Not a Woodcock found for 90 minutes and then in probably 15 minutes I found a dozen. They were skittish as he'll and flushing like popcorn. Little Annie lost her cool and pumped a few. Sophie with slower footspeed handled them better. PS. Some of the birds were getting up when the ...

Good stuff there for sure. Dogs keep us young, or at least younger. They are the reason I am up every morning before daylight.

Thanks all. She really handles great. A very biddable pup. She learns more everytime she gets on birds. Good memory.
