Re: New One for the Cabinet
As a lefty myself, I prefer the thumb lever right where it is. For me, it's one smooth motion to open the action. Actually, I'm right handed and the only side lever gun I own has the lever on the right side, as per the gun pictured. I find it more ergonomic with it on the right and me being right h...

That's a looker, Jimmy. And, a side lever to boot!
F and F should do the job.

Re: Identifying A.H. Fox
Very nice Fox, and with the wide top rib. It's just a personal preference but I really like the "wide-rib Foxes". I have Philly guns with two different rib widths, all original, and the widest ones are the prettiest to me. Again, just a personal preference.

Re: Woodcock hunting and blood
Tom, My thighs look like I got shot with bird shot where my Filson chaps had gaps. Doodles like it thicker than any other bird. I wonder if it is in relation to the proliferation of avian predators. Probably not. More likely it is because they have no eyelids and seek shady, even dark, areas to fee...

Re: Was the CC coated originally from the factory
Tom has seen many more high original condition Foxes than I, and I absolutely respect his opinions. Personally, I've never seen any coating, or remnants of such, on what I considered an original condition Fox. I do have other, newer guns with some sort of lacquer coating over the casehardening color...

Re: card shoot with a wildfowl
Allan, not to change the subject from your Fox Wildfowl but, is your Ithaca a NID Magnum, or is it a shorter chambered Super Ten?

Re: card shoot with a wildfowl
That's cool! I'm really surprised the LCS held its own against those true card guns. Some of them have insane amounts of choke. I have a 34" barreled Wingmaster that I bought for $400 that has upwards of .065" constriction, partially due to back-boring. Have you ever measured the constrict...

Super Foxes are very special things.
Thanks for the video. Could you turn the camera on and off with your phone, or did it have to record the whole time?

Re: Disassembly Instructions
Following are the instructions to safely remove a buttstock from an AH Fox gun, and disassemble the action. These instructions originated with "rabbit", who posted them on the DGJ site forum some 22 years ago. I printed them at that time and have referred to them many times for a clean and...

Re: Disassembly Instructions
I'm pretty sure I printed out Mike's instructions many years ago, and if so they are in a file cabinet in my shop. I'll look at my earliest convenience.

Re: Getting the B ready for Ducks
Good job, Spyder. A couple rubdowns with French Polish will "age" that pad and make it look not-so-new. (Another great tip I learned from Frank) I have used the Miles Gilbert jig for several years. I wanted to buy the one that Brownell's advertised, that worked like a pendulum (best way I ...

Re: The Things Trap Shooters Do
I also wonder about the owner's neck length. That thing looks to have 4 1/2" drop.
