Re: Is your gun club, reloading supplier, or gun shop open f

The shop I use is open but only 1 person at a time is allowed in the shop wearing a face mask, it's open 10 to 5 weekdays only. Shop is in a rural location and is a 1 man operation.

Extractor barrels on ejector gun

I have a set of A grade extractor barrels I would like to use on a BE ejector gun, would it damage the ejector trips on the ejector gun?

Re: Philadelphia Arms Fox A grade advice needed

Donnie has machined a stock for a PAC Fox for me from a pattern stock I have, he may have kept a pattern from it, if not you can use my pattern stock. The regular Fox stock will not work on a PAC Fox, if you need to use my pattern contact me , my email is in my profile.

Re: Buttplate and gripcap for PAC A grade?

Thanks Dave, buttplate shouldn't be a problem, grip cap might be. I may just finish it with a straight grip, any examples of the correct trigger guard tang? Guess I could use a Parker one for a pattern

Buttplate and gripcap for PAC A grade?

I am getting close to the end of restocking this one, anyone with photos of the correct buttplate and gripcap. This gun has most of the original CC and barrel blue but fell into the hands of a budding trapshooter who destroyed the original stock and forend.

Re: Pair Of Fox's Found Today{Update More Pics}

Interesting thoughts on the buttplate, how do you explain this, 3 A grades, left is #2496, center is #16913, right is #13627. The first 2 are original length and have the 2 original screw holes for a buttplate with the lower screw very low in the toe, #13627 has been cut and a pad added but the old ...

BE Krupp 12ga, Gough engraving

Here is an early 2nd generation BE 12ga, #22496, I have owned for about a year. It was sad looking originally, the stock had been cut to 12”, the Krupp barrels are now 26 1/2”, Probably shortened by Savage as it has Savage marks on the barrel. I added the 1 ½” pad to bring the pull back tp 14” and c...

Re: Very lightweight barrels on 12GA A Grade

I have an A grade #21707 12ga with 28" barrels that weighs 6lb 11oz, the barrels weigh 3 lb even and are 2.349 at the breech, the wall thickness on both barrels is around .100 at 9", probably about as thin as would be safe, bores are .726 and are original. I don't think a lighter 12ga woul...

Re: Earlier CE Grade Fox

I have a well used but solid A grade serial #2496 that has the same patent info as Daves, it would be interesting to see when the first 1902 patents show up.

Re: Would you buy this gun???

There are other places that the original serial should show up.The trigger plate usually has it on the side of the trigger boss and on the front of the stock, I have a savage.
made one that is on the buttstock under the buttplate. IMO it is just a headache waiting to happen.

Re: Sterlingworth safety difficult to move...

Is the stock removed? If not, you should remove it and clean the stock recess and safety, also check the auto safety bar to make sure it is not binding. Check to be sure the safety mech. is not binding in the stock recess or the triggers when the action screws are tightened.

Re: Unusual barrel flat stamping - Factory reproof?

Frank, I have a BE 12ga made in 1915 that has been back to Savage for some a work, it has the usual 2 3/4 chamber stamp on the left barrel, no unusual stamps on the rest of the gun. The barrels are now 26 1/2 ", probably the reason it went to them. Interestingly the barrels are #2 Krupp but are...

Re: Top lever left of center question

You might also check the yoke (connects the top lever to the rotary bolt) I have seen these bent, it bends at a fairly thin area where it enters the rotary bolt and can be straightened if done carefully, otherwise a new yoke will fix it. If the barrels fit up tight that is the first thing I would ch...
