It does seem as though the vintage SxS Ithacas are the red-headed step child of the gun world. They are great guns which are appreciated by a very few. Thanks for shining some light on them Frank.

Nice display of Ithaca shooters and your letter. Seems as though Mr. Crosby also shot a Parker as I have a 20ga. ordered by him.

Try your best to keep the straight stock. I can't tell if it's orirginal to the gun because I can't enlarge your photos to see detail but I can assure you a 20ga SW with 30" tubes is just about perfect.

And if it doesn't work out for you I've got room for one more in my safe.

We would at least need some clear photos of the gun, the repair, the replaced forend, barrel length, gauge, and serial number to start with. What other forum did you post about this gun?
