Re: George Bird Evans
The Fox is a Sterlingworth Field ejector. The original hang tag is stapled inside the door of the small built-in gun cabinet at Old Hemlock.
Jeff- those are Woodcock
I might add that all 3 of GBE’s guns are placed with friends

Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??
After a long search I finally found a honest 1918 12/28” SWE. On a whim I requested a JTC letter which showed it went to White Hdw, (Wilkes Barre?) Re: Tips on determining originality of a Fox shotgun
Welcome bigolddave, One of the first things you notice on Sterlingworth guns is the checkering. Original Sterlingworth guns have flat checkering. Tons of Sterlies have fallen to the idea of "upgrading" to pointed checkering. I'm not a pro at this but I know a whole lot more now than I did ...

Welcome SUPERBLAKE. I dont know what your budget is for this project, but I can only say "stop while youre ahead". Keep in mind youre not building a AR15 where you can just drop in any parts from the internet. While the parts you have purchased certainly have value, the cost of finding mis...

Re: 1918 Fox 20g AE re-stock
Ive had this one sitting around for a few years. Not sure of your original grip style but heres a Half Pistol (s/n 201259)that may have some potential. Theres a small chip missing at the top tang left side and a tight hairline crack in the left side at wrist. No butt plate. It is uncut and the check...
