Thanks TOOL MAN (by the way, where is tool town?). My gun has 30" tubes with different size chokes, so I guess it is M/F. The gun was my Grandfather's (I am not in fact "a nun," but my Grandfathers last name was Nunn and it is also my middle name - thought it might be a fitting tribut...

chokes: three more questions

1. What are the standard choke measurements for a late 20s 12 gauge Sterlingworth?

2. Are there marking on the barrel that indicate what size I have?

3. What implications does the size of my chokes have for both trap shooting and bird shooting?

Thanks,

Andrew

Thanks. I know I mentioned 1 oz. loads above, but what is the maximum load recommended for a vintage Sterlingworth?

Thanks for the tips. I saw the instructions on the first page and was wondering if there might be a cleaning/lubing regiment for after use shooting.

Also, what about the shells generally available at sporting clay places? Can I shoot 2 3/4" lead shot with one ounce loads?

new shooter, two questions

Three weeks ago I finally got around to taking my Grandfather's 1928 Sterlingworth out for some trap shooting and loved it (although I did horribly). I grew up shooting rifles, but this was my first time shooting a shotgun, other than an old single shot 410 that my Dad has as a varmint gun. I plan t...
