Re: WTB Postings are NOT PERMITTED
Frank, I thought the same thing myself as I was typing out a response. So I gathered the necessary items and the application is ready to be mailed on Monday. HOWEVER, I still think that if the true goal is to build the membership rolls then it should be easier to become a member. If you want it to b...

Re: WTB Postings are NOT PERMITTED
I'm nobody, but I will share my 2 cents: I think it would pay for itself in short order. Raise membership enough to cover expenses and offer something else as an added bonus (Pin, patch, bumber sticker, hat - any small thing to display Fox ownership & pride). The membership dues haven't prevente...

Re: WTB Postings are NOT PERMITTED
Has any progress been made to allow for membership applications to be processed online? I think membership would grow if there was an easy way to sign up. Even PGCA allows for online membership and renewal. I know it was being considered at one time for this site as well. Any updates?

Re: First Post
Early A-grade. From the pics - it looks like an honest shooter. Post more info and I'm sure you'll get more feedback. Barrel length? Chokes? Serial number for dating. Original butt plate, Stock deminsions ( LOP, DAC, DAH ) etc. Looks like case colors are all gone, but that's not uncommon for a gun t...

Re: Membership question
Good point, but they are (almost) the only game in town. I sent the check the old fashioned way, so for me it is a moot point. But if growing the membership is a high priority - then a more convenient path should be looked into. Technology is too good to make this the only way to sign up.

Membership question
Is there no way of signing up online? Generally I'm old fashioned and would appreciate the "old school" approach to building membership. But printing off the form and mailing in a check seems a little outdated - even to someone that is not very technology friendly - like myself. Just seems...

"savage made" questions
Is a pre-war (1930-1942) Savage "Fox" model B any more desirable than post war guns? I own a couple of early graded AH Fox guns and have found a Savage made SPE 16 for sale privately. I'm going to buy that one but He also has a pre-war model B 16 that I was considering as well, however I k...

Re: Fox A Grade 12 gauge SN#21073
I never really paid close attention to the reference of "lowest serial # on record" before reading this thread, but I have Serial# 10812 & 17901 both A-grades. What do I win? Does anyone want pics to verify?

Re: Early A grade - comparison
Thanks for the response. I would have to agree that the early a-grades seem like a bargain when it comes to vintage American classics. They have certainly given me an appreciation for fit and finish. In my area most can be bought for under $1000 (some a little more, most considerably less) and in to...

Early A grade - comparison
Haven't felt like I could add anything to the "fox collectors forum" because I didn't own a collection of fox-es. I now own 2 early a-grades 10812 28" Imp/Mod 12b that I pheasent hunt with and my new one is 17901 30" Mod/x-full 12b that has been feeding the same Alaskan family si...

2-3/4" chambers on 1909 gun?
I have my first fox - an early a grade #10812 (1909?) I have measured the chambers several times using the index card method. They measure 2-7/8" everytime I do it. Could a 1909 gun have came with 2-3/4" chambers? Would 2-9/16" be more likely? I'll get a letter from Mr. Callahan event...

FC 16- I'm sorry about not being clear. The diamond is just cut into the wood, like the checkering. It's not made of any type of metal and I don't believe it's there to cover anything up. Maybe this stock is a replacement allready. This must not have been something that Fox used in their checkering ...

Double barrel fever (1st post)
Just recently joined the forum, but have been lurking around for quite a while. Participate on the doublegun BBS pretty reguarly and have been trading and selling off all my single barrel units in favor of the 2-barrel variety for the last 10 years. Once I owned/shot my first "Elmer Fudd" ...
