Chuckarman, could you send me some pic's of the checkering on both the stock and forend. I love the way it was done and may ask my stockman to duplicate it.

Thanks

TB, When I get it I will let you know. I was told it is identical. Know I need to stress over what knid of grip to have. Most A grade's have the knob or half-pistol but I'm leaning more towards the english but also like the full pistol. Decisions, decisions. Can I get a partial fitting, I don't want...

VA, no it is an unusual piece of american walnut. I was looking for a piece of tiger strip and was shone this and for the price I took it. At first I thought it was a little to fancy but it kind of grew on me.

Researcher, not to doubt your response but, I rarely if ever see any Fox in any condition for that kind of money. May I ask where you see these guns for under $1000. I can't seem to find them. The link you provided in the previous post even shows a mediocre gun for $1850.00

Thanks Guys! Answers are kind of all over the board but, I appreciate the reponses. It sounds like I would be OK as long as I use lower pressure loads and don't push it. It probably won't matter for know since I just purchased a case of shells from RST.

Low pressure loads

Gentlemen, on another site someone is recommending the use of Federal vintage gold 23/4" 7/8oz loads in vintage guns. I have a 1930's Fox AE in good shape. Would you recommend these shells or should I stick to the 2 1/2" loads from RS?

Thanks

restocking advise

Need some advise on where to send a gun for restocking. I have an old Fox AE that has been restocked before but poorly done. I need to send it to someone to restock it for me as I am not confident to do it myself. Also, could you give me a ballpark figure on the cost of a restock and checkering for ...

Silvers, the stock (obviously newer) has a LOP 13 3/4, Barrels are 26" (which is what I wanted), weight is just under 7lbs. Researcher, thanks and no this is definitely not a savage, as I mentioned the stack has been redone like a partial makeover. Bluing is not great but good enough for now, i...

Jeff, I just purchased your #2 gun a couple weeks ago for something less than the asking price. Nice overall gun, you could have done worse. If your looking for a project gun as in restock, reblue(sp) etc. there are a couple of Fox AE 12's for sale under $2000 at guns america that might be worth loo...
