Jeff S wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2024 7:53 am Thanks for the pictures. You’ve had an amazing Fall.
Thanks Jeff. For 2 pound dogs they probably put up 75+\- birds with 45-50 to bag. Only problem this year was they just started taking off - they would get a scent and move full speed to where I couldn't keep up.

The Season Almost Over

MA stops stocking the day before Thanksgiving and while the season runs until 12/31, birds can be tough to find especially when released in the freezing rain Wednesday night and 22deg and snow the next morning - many simply freeze to death that first night. Started Thursday morning in the mix of fre...

Re: One Last Drake

Sometimes your just are in the right place at the right time. I'd be willing to bet though, that while you were eating your bologna sammich in the duck blind a 150+ class buck sauntered by your stand then bedded down within spittin' distance. Nice picture BTW. That's funny.....and, unfortuna...

Re: MA Pheasant

Thanks Ron for posting your pics and reports. Great success on the birds! In comparison, one my buds just returned from a week in SD and four of them each saw an average of less than 2 pheasants per day over the week. And that was with three good dogs. George's report: educated birds ..... runners ...

More pics. Top 2 pics are of a water retrieve by Maggie. It started about 500' from the end of a corn row that ends about 50' from a woods line and the CT River is maybe 100' further in. Dogs flushes a rooster, hit it, and it ran into the woods. Dogs have chase and the rooster ran about 500' along t...

A few more pics. Each year there is one "bad luck gun" and this year it was my M12 20g purchased from Frank, which curse was finally snapped tonight. Surprisingly, last year it was one of my favorites and my Trojan 20g was the bad one but this year the Trojan has done great. Also in there ...

MA Pheasant

Maggie and Mollie have really come into their own this year. For the year they have probably put up 75ish birds with around 40ish brought down. They both have developed their own techniques and it's so fun to watch their body movements when they pick up a scent. Generally they find a ground scent, f...

Great looking guns and pups! I bet you turn a lot of heads when your running those two on birds!! Brett
Yes, I've been asked by others to keep them away from their dogs because they are pitties. They listen and find birds and have fun doing so.
