Re: Back boring 16 gauge Sterlingworth
Thank you both for your responses, I have patterned the gun and while the barrels don’t measure exact cyl/ modified chokes, they shoot pretty spot on for those. The cyl has a 32” pattern or even slightly more at 20 yards and the mod has a 20” pattern at 20 yards. I was shooting RST loads (2 1/2” 7/8...

Back boring 16 gauge Sterlingworth

Re: Recently Purchased Fox Sterlingworth 16 gauge
There is no #2 under the serial number on the barrels. I am wondering if this barrel swap along with the potential for a stock change makes a big difference in value? What would the estimated value be?

Re: Recently Purchased Fox Sterlingworth 16 gauge

The Barrels are marked Savage Arms Utica NY. "special Alloy Forged Steel". I thought that the company was transferred to Savage later on in the 30s. Does it make sense that the barrels are marked Utica NY instead of Philadelphia?

Recently Purchased Fox Sterlingworth 16 gauge
I am brand new to the forum, but I recently purchase a 16 Ga Fox Sterlingworth. The guns Serial number is 350173. Is there an estimate of its production year? The gun also does not have the traditional grip that i have seen on most Sterlingwoths. It is more rounded which is a shape that I have seen ...
