Dewey, Just to clarify. I was referring to Scaupmans SBT as having the same cracks. I know your cut away is a Sterlingworth.

Thank you Dewey, the sectioned photos certainly demonstrate how it happens. It's interesting that the gun I was looking at to purchase is not a trap gun but a late model Phil.Fox A. Scaupman, your picture looks exactly the same as this Fox A presents! You would think that this type of fracture would show up more frequently if, in fact, it is due to mis opening and not hot loads.

Cracks/fractures in water table
Looking at a Fox A 12 Ga and discovered that the water table had two cracks or fractures. All I can think of is someone used some very hot loads.
