Re: 2015 Spring Southern and Drake Landing

Oh I don't sweat the small stuff, not in a long while now. One of the guys I shoot with regularly is a 90% shooter and let's just say I'm not that good. We still laugh and have a good time, that's all I care about. I look forward to the show and tell though, I've acquired some interesting pieces in ...

Re: AHFCA Booth-The Southern SxS Championship

Sadly my favorite Foxes won't be making the trip with me. One needs work, and the other is getting worked on, but I have other Foxes that I will be bringing. And who knows, perhaps the 30" 16ga Philly Sterlingworth I got yesterday will become a new favorite by then. Either way I'll swing by and...

Re: 2015 Spring Southern and Drake Landing

The days are ticking by, but to slow!! I'm excited for the event, can't wait to shoot with you guys. Though the master class thing has me nervous, I usually hit more than I miss, but that's about all. I always have fun though and that's all I care about. See you guys shortly.

Georgia Vintagers Chapter/ Clays event 28 Mar 15

Some of you guys may have seen this on the Parker or Double Gun forum boards, but I was asked to repost it here. I'm not an official Vintagers member, but I am associated with this group and will be at this event. Anyone who wants to attend, just shoot me a message and I will add you to the roster. ...

Re: Position of midbead on 26" Sterlingworth brush barrels

My 16ga 28" measures the mid bead 13.5" behind the front bead. My 26" 16ga only has a front bead, sorry.

Re: 2015 Spring Southern and Drake Landing

I posted a reply over on the Parker boards, thought I'd cover my bases and respond here as well. Go ahead and put my name on the list for this pre-event, I will be there. Look forward to meeting and shooting with you guys. Jim

Re: gunshop in charlotte nc

I would think it was whatever solution they used in the ultrasonic that did the damage not the unit itself. And why they would use any kind of caustic solution in an ultrasonic cleaner is beyond me. The purpose of the ultrasonic is to clean without damage. The sound waves and the low heat do all the...

Re: Two Quarters Trick?

All jokes aside, call Jason and just order a new one, it's really not that difficult. That 20 I just did took me all of 20 minutes with a set of Harbor Freight needle files, and the hardest part was drilling out the axle pin hole to clean out the burrs so the pin would go through. But up to you, I k...

Re: Two Quarters Trick?

That's a test I perform on any double before purchase. However I use pennies, and I was told to look for 10-15' of height off the pin strike. Just how I was taught, most people look at you a little funny, especially in a crowded arena like a gun show, but knowledge is power as they say. And try not ...

Re: 16 Sterlingworth hard to open...

I don't have a set of chamber gauges to measure with. But best guessing with my scale I'm showing 2 3/4" If I can figure out how to do it with snap gauges and micrometers I can do it that way, but don't know how to do it that way. I've done some searching but everything I'm finding is chamber g...

Re: 16 Sterlingworth hard to open...

I realize if I load my own the savings will be minimal if any at all. But flip side of that, good low pressure taget loads are hard to find, if at all. I enjoy shooting my Fox and I don't see any need to continue pumping the factory stuff down it on a sporting clays course when I can make my own and...

Re: 16 Sterlingworth hard to open...

I will measure out everything next time I can. I'll probably try to find a few different manufacturers shells and test them out. Though I do intend to make my own loads for this 16, I am not currently setup. However that day is coming fast, so if anyone has any leads on new empty Remington hulls, I'...

Re: 16 Sterlingworth hard to open...

Well another 100 rounds on the sporting clays range today, and no issues. The gun functioned as it should, no flaws whatsoever, except for the guy that was pointing it and missing, but that's another issue alltogether. The first time I shot it, Federal shells, sticking in the primers or the brass ex...
