Re: Old photo of my grandparents
Picture was taken in Ferndale MI very late 30's Shotgun is a 12 ga A H Fox Sterlingworth 28 inch barrels, full/modified has the Phillie steel barrel info stamped, not sure how it came from the chamber wise but it does have 2 3/4 chambers. It has nice wood and locks up tight as a drum. I load a mild ...

Recoil pad replaced
Its a NOS but not really what was on there, the original pad was so hard and brittle it was just crumbling. I plan on shooting a little trap with it. Its a 100 years old so should be fun, it does have 2 3/4 inch chambers so 1 oz and a little Clays at 1100 fps should be okay. http://pic20.picturetrai...

Re: New Sterlingworth and help with rust
Use a Blue Wonder kit to get it shiny, their cleaner when used with scotchbrite removes rust and bluing, but when used with 0000 steel wool just rust.
Do a google search.

Re: 12 ga marking?
So using a highly calibrated wood dowel marked at 2.5, 2.75 & 3.0 it appears it has 2 3/4 inch chambers. I have so mild target loads I use loaded with Clays think I'll treat this old gal to a round of trap. These are right at 1150 FPS and 1 oz.

Re: 12 ga marking?
So if I measure the chamber if I remember right a 2 3/4 inch shell is the fired length right? Did they have 2 3/4 in 1913?

12 ga marking?
My barrels just say 12 ga nothing I can find on whether its chambered for 2 1/2, 2 5/8 or 2 3/4? Are they marked some how to indicate this? Serial number puts it as made in 1913.

Been in our family since new hasn't been shot in years but I think that os about to change. 12 ga 28 inch barrels two ivory beads. The old anti flinch recoil pad is shot I want it replaced before I shoot it again. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL174/1021972/3058943/407579807.jpg http://pic20.pictur...
