Fox Collectors

Anyone here own a Fox that has the original sling mounts? Got pictures you could post. I'm most interested in the front mount; was it mounted on the forend or barrels?

I don't know if this is any help. This is from a book: "American Firearms Makers", Copyright 1953 By A. Merwyn Carey.

What do you use to get that satin finish look?

You don't aim a shotgun, anyway. And, it will catch the bark on a tree while you pee, so why mess with it?

Yes, very nice. Is the finish on the wood original?

That Peters box is in nice shape, what time period we talking about?

For oil finished stocks, what specific products will work to remove dirt and grim?

Believe it was mentioned that Savage is providing much better letters on Fox guns now. Wondering if they now include info such as if a gun was returned to Savage for repairs and they lengthened the chambers from 2 9/19 to 2 3/4, or info that may have been written on back side of order card?

And the cost for a letter?

Acquired an A grade and would like to get it checked for shootability. Is there a smith in Minnesota (driving distance from St Cloud) that anyone could recommend?

Early "pin" gun? What is the serial number?

An AE 16 with 32" barrels...WOW, just WOW! I'd say that's a very special gun.
