JChase,

If the shells are the 7/8oz Federal Gold Medal loads from Midway, you should be fine. I recall pressures being listed as 5000psi and the velocity is 1200fps. Works great with my 1915 vintage Sterlingworth.

Sixteen,

When you go to the site suggested by Mike you'll find an announcement about the 16ga low pressure reloading group. When you join, you'll have all the load data you need.

The guy in charge of the group is RWG.

Fly by Night

Fiocchi actually lists their velocities and pressures. I have the 2006 book which shows the following 20 ga loading in a 2 3/4in hull.

20LITE 2 1/2de 3/4oz 7.5lead shot 1075fps 6760psi

birdhunter,

I would anticipate you would get IC/mod equivalent with spreader loads in your Mod/full barrels but only checking patterns at distances you expect to shoot will tell the real answer.

Fin,

I've used Polywads spreader loads to good effect in my tightly choked 16 Sterlingworth.

You can also buy the spreader inserts if you decide to reload.
