Please note that registering for the Fox Collectors Forum does not mean you are a member of the AH Fox Collectors Association. Clean-Care of etched metal

Found Grandfather's AH Fox 12 gauge, A Grade #24046 in basement. Inside the Krupp Fluid Steel barrel is excellent, however, the etched area around trigger and breach has some rust. What is this metal? How is it best cared for, and polished?
