My son and I hunted pheasants at T M T Hunting preserve in Staatsburg, NY, this past weekend. My son was home from boarding school this past weekend, so naturally we went hunting. Youth day for ducks was not too productive, other than seeing a bunch. Quail hunting was a lot more successful. Sherwood did an excellent job pointing and holding. I got a double. Brays Island threw in two pheasant...

I went out on the front lawn with Dad and fired his 20 gauge LC Smith once. It kicked hard and it was another year before I tried again. That was when my great Uncle Hugh gave me a 20 gauge 870 and I began shooting it in earnest at doves.

That sucks, but at least the end product is good and you at least got your gun back.

My son and I just shot a few ducks here in the Lowcountry. We both shot 10 gauges with Salt Creek 10 gauge Bismuth. Harry shot a Parker NH and I shot an Ithaca NID Mag 10. I have a 20 gauge Sterlingworth that is my favorite wood duck gun, hands down.

A decent condition early C is on my list. A realistic immediate goal is to get the action cleaned and fixed on my 32" Sterlingworth

It’s in Moultrie, Georgia. About 30 minutes from Thomasville. It is mostly released birds although we occasionally find wild ones.

My first Sterlingworth 20 is the best wood duck gun I have. Light weight and tight chokes. 28" barrels I have a second 20 Sterlingworth that is a similar configuration that I might have the chokes opened so it will hunt upland birds. We'll see.

Very cool! Hopefully, I will get a good chance to use my Super Fox this season.
