Re: Low Pressure Shells

Thanks Mike. I went to their web page and also downloaded their product catalog. You mentioned that the load that I had tried was in the 6800 pressure range. Where can a guy like me find that information? Jeff Jeff, Aerostar outdoors used to show it, but they have changed their website and it seems...

Re: Low Pressure Shells

Jeff, I have used them. But there are different B&P's. I know some of them that are rated at that particular fps is around the 6800 pressure range, but not all of them. However, you can find out their pressures by going to the webpage and looking at the description of them. I can't remember wher...

I agree, Who cares! Nice gun and it's a keeper if you like straight grip shotguns!

Re: Nice shot patterns

I haven't duck hunted much, but that actually might work at 35yards over decoyed ducks in the timber. Pass shooting, yeah, that might be a little loose.

Anyway, someone with a little more knowledge on that subject will chime in before too long.

Re: Nice shot patterns

What is the gun choked at and how far away? It looks pretty sparse like you are saying, but it all depends on how far you were away. The second looks like it would work even though it is high.

Re: Fox ejector guide pin broke

I don't have personal experience, but from talking to Dan Rossiter about this very same thing, he seemed like a good candidate to fix this. I specifically asked him about it when I was having him evaluate an ejector Sterly and everything he said sounded good to me. Don't know the cost, but he can ma...

Accurate nitro 100 powder

Has anyone used this powder?

The loading data looks good and it appears to be available at the supplier our gun club uses. The other powders are out of stock, IMR and Hodgon.

Reloading stuff...

I have looked at a lot of the reloading data recipe's but it seems to me that there aren't a lot of options to keep the pressure around 7000 and the FPS about 1200. At least from the limited supplies of reloading components. For instance, here is a recipe but I can't find all of the components, name...

Re: Looking for wood

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I filled out the form on Cecil's website and got a response back from what looks like his wife saying he will be out of town until next week, which is fine with me.

I'll see what he has to offer while I'm going over the other sites suggested here.

Looking for wood

Subject says it. Long story short, I bought a later A and the stock is hosed and needs to be replaced. That is coming from the gunsmith/stockmaker. He says he has a blank in stock that would halfway match the fore-end. However, I thought about replacing the whole thing with a blank that I could pick...

Re: Stockmaker

Eightbore's suggestion is a pretty good one, especially if you don't plan on doing a custom gun.

If you go the route of a custom stock, it's going to be lots of money, 2000+.

From reading other posts, people have had good luck with them.

Just do a search and you can find their info.

Re: Barrel weight

The heaviest is a #1 and the lightest #4. If I remember correctly, and I"m sure someone will correct me, but the numbers are stamped before striking. You can do a search and get the information on how much they approximately weight to each barrel length. I don't know that off the top of my head...

I think there is a guy name Buck Hamlin that's close to St. Louis that could probably handle what you are looking for.

Re: Is it safe to shoot? Krupp barrels

To make sure the gun is safe to shoot, you might want your smith to check it out; even though, it sounds like it's in good shape. Also, read this link http://foxcollectors.com/My%20Forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4188&p=23875&hilit=loads#p23875 and read the post that "Researcher&qu...
