Re: My first fox

http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w400/Dalgo4/3Flinlocks.jpg Although not a very good picture, here are 3 flintlocks that I have. The first is an upper eastern Tenn mountain rifle (circa 1810) in .36 cal. The midde one is a Penn. Lancaster, after Isaac Haines, Golden Age (circa 1775) in .50 cal. ...

Re: Central Pa SxS shoot 2013

I certainly will be there. Look forward to meeting some of you personally, and don't mind at all making a fool of myself with missed shots. I will take plenty of 7/8 oz 2 3/4" RST's in No.7 1/2 (as well as my 2 1/2", 3/4 oz. loads). I also have Win. AA 1 oz. My main objective is to meet yo...

Re: Difference between factory card and order card

I sent Mr. Callahan a letter and a check on Nov. 2nd of 2012. Check was cashed right away. It is now 16 weeks and I have had no reply from Mr. Callahan on any history about my gun. In contrast, I received a copy of the front part of the card on my gun immediately upon requesting information from thi...

Re: How long have you been collecting/shooting Foxes?

Fin2Feather wrote, You'll be right in style these days with that Fox "tattoo"! Glad to see I'm not unique in the "bite" department! Of course, now that I think of it, I am a Fox collector! I now have collected 2 Fox gifts: a cracked rib (long healed), and a tattoo (scar). Have to...

Re: How long have you been collecting/shooting Foxes?

Am I a Fox collector? I don’t know. I might be. I’ve had my first, and so far only, Fox since October of 2012. We had a rather curious beginning, she and I. Walking out of the gun shop where I traded for her, stepping down onto the sidewalk, I did a misstep, and jammed the barrels (the gun was in a ...

Re: Collecting

Mills, you nailed it! I'm in the same boat. I have an A grade 12 ga. Silvers put a bug in my head about adding to the collection. That will be my goal this year. Again, it's a money thing. It is an addiction!

Re: My first A grade Fox

Congratulations on your A grade Fox find, MilRob. I recently got one myself, and its debut was a successful pheasant hunt last month. I'm taking the Fox for my first ever grouse hunting experiences between now and the end of the season (Jan. 26th), time and weather permitting. I'm really enjoying my...

Frank, real nice article. Very well written. I'm finding that I really enjoy reading about the history of these guns, and can appreciate the effort you have made in investigating and uncovering. Interesting how you get some questions answered which lead you to other questions that need to be answere...

marshfellow, I'm looking at this picture again (very compelling image) and thinking, don't look at the fact that he is at or over the half-way mark, just think of all the beautiful seasons you have to look forward with your lab. Great pic, and thanks for sharing.

Re: What's a SW pin gun?

Thanks, jolly bill. Nothing like a visual! What a variety of styles for the Sterlingworth. On another note, if one were to obtain a Sterlingworth to use as a donor gun for a custom build, which would be the most desireous one to get, what years, and pin or not, on the basis of quality, strength, etc.
