Re: Trouble with re-assembly

That forend is a mess. It is best to let that gun be someone else's problem.

Re: DIY Rust Blue?

The wire wheel would be a super fine stainless steel. It does not effect the surface, other than removing the built up oxidation.

Re: DIY Rust Blue?

I have not used that stuff. I have only exclusively used Mark Lees Express Blue and have found no reason to try anything different. I can do a set of barrels start to finish in 4-5 hours in any conditions. The water tank never cools down. And the results are great. Any high volume shop that does a l...

Re: Guild guns

That is an absolutely stunning gun! With a lot of special features not usually seen on German guns, from a styling and embellishment standpoint. The action is commonly seen on Colath guns. The wing nut safety is on when alighted with the rib, and off when perpendicular to it. When the safety is on, ...

Re: Not so technical question - butt pad screw plugs

wrap the plug in one layer or two of electrical tape. that will snug it up.

Edit, I did not see the above reply suggesting the same thing initially.

Re: rearmost, sear axle screw for 12 g Sterlingworth

The lock screws used on the fax guns are all the same regardless of position. There are 4 of them used on the gun.

Re: SF doubling on me

Is this a Double trigger gun? Or a Single Trigger?

On double trigger guns, apart from needing a cleaning, a common issue is a weak sear spring.

I know exactly who you are speaking of and believe me, you are not the only one in the same situation. It is completely laughable and he should be ashamed of how he is treating customers that trusted him with their commissions. Nobody seems to have any issue outright lying to people these days in th...

Re: Stock for Fox Sterlingworth 12 gage

If you mean Macon (not Mason), stay away from them entirely. They are horrible. I cannot believe they are still in the business.

If you do mean MASON. Then I dont know, I have never heard of them.

Re: Restoration

Re-Case hardening a frame should only be done if everything else is being done. And done correctly I may add. it is the LAST thing that should be considered. Nothing looks worse that a painted up gun wth old refinished wood or worn engraving. Slapping lipstick on a pig is a big business for some. An...

Re: Can this stock be repaired?

The stock on the gun, on top of being damaged, is also not original and pretty poorly made/shaped. Sure the damage as it is can be repaired. But would you want to throw good money after bad? But it would of course be far less than a proper replacement.

Re: Single trigger

Single triggers on double guns are the dumbest thing going. If you feel like you must have one. Make sure to keep Dans number handy and hope he is willing to fix it WHEN it malfunctions. He would be the best option for the time being.
