I'm sad to report that David passed away last Friday at Walter Reed. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, and will be held in Madison Heights, VA.
RIP David

Dave,
If you are coming back to Hogtown to recuperate and I can help in any way, you know how to reach me.

Stop by the L C hospitality tent and we'll reschedule our "raid" that we talked about over Christmas.

Greensboro gun show 1/31-2/1
Attended the show yesterday. More than normal doubles there, and the highlight was two Fox 12's--an XE with Katusky trigger, and a CE, both original except had the wrong pad. Lots of color left on both. Nice to see quality doubles instead of junk.

David,
If my wife wasn't going to go to the Southern, we could rescue the "Vette from mothballs and ride in style ! But, I don't know if you and it could stand to travel with a trunkful of Elsies.

Chris Baumohl, LCSCA Director
Chris Baumohl, LCSCA Director, suffered a massive heart attack Friday and is in cardiac intensive care in Huntsville AL. For all who know Cris and those who don't, the vintage doublegun community needs to pray for his swift recovery, as he is a person who has never met a stranger and is a friend to ...

Re: Road trip for a duck stamp
Frank,
Fullchoke is correct----you DON'T need a MIGRATORY WATERFOWL STAMP ("duck stamp") to hunt doves, but you do need a HIP number in from the state you are hunting doves in (as well as waterfowl).

I agree with Bill---however wait until the event approaches and watch the Parker and Smith websites before you make reservations, as discounts to Southern attendees are offered.

Begrudgingly I have to agree with fox-adm. I'm an Elsie guy and own 2 Gr 2's, neither of which have furniture that nice. At the risk of being flamed I'm guessing a restock on the Gr 2 pictured.

Re: Early season Grouse
Stan, This is not foolproof, but on mature eastern birds, the black band on the tail is solid, the black ruff on the neck is prominant, and the topknot is larger on male birds.

I looked hard at that gun, also. If I had sold my Parker earlier it would have been a stablemate to the restored 20 I have and showed to a few people at the show.
