Re: Sterly with 32" tubes

Is there any identification on the gun that would indicate that it was a "trap" model?

Re: Sterly with 32" tubes

Thanks Dave! I should have specified that the gun is a 12. Just bought it, looks like about 80% original condition with the exception of an ugly "Ranger" pad screwed to the butt....thankfully, they did not shorten the butt...will post pics here when in hand! BTW its #64236

Sterly with 32" tubes

What is this groups opinion of the scarcity of a Philly Sterly wearing 32" tubes, as opposed to shorter barrels?

Fox Maker's Cases

I have a fellow proclaiming to hace a C grade, early 12 gauge gun n a Fox makers case, label and all, that was shipped with the gun. Fairly new to this, but have to admit that am fairly head over heels for the Fox guns, and have three in the rack now, since last September. No photos of the gun or ca...

Re: New Era Shotgun Shells

Thanks Guys, I was able to scratch up enough ammo at the Buda Texas Cabelas to get me through the last week or so. It was a classic doubles load of english 7's, 1oz in 2 1/2" over 2 3/4 drams. It shot pretty good. The chambers in my gun have been opened to 2 3/4 i now know, and my gunsmith sugg...

Re: Feels like Christmas.

Well, Vixen and I are back from our first hunting date together. Really suprised how light the recoil was from such a light little 16 gauge! Killed my 15 bird limit both evenings, and the second evening managed to scratch it out in 22 rounds, after shooting 33 the first day. Love the feel and look o...

Re: Unusual Sterlingworth

I am trying hard to downplay the gun a little with the current owner...working on a fair trade, he sees it as a non-shooter wallhanger (probably right), it may tiake a couple of weeks to get it back in my hands, and I will definitely supply pics then...It was a 5 digit serial, starting with 5..had 3...

Re: Unusual Sterlingworth

Thanks researcher, that's the experience I need in order to learn about these guns. It must have been really clean to start with, as metal finishing did little to damage original stampings and engravings. The barrels are also completely ripple free, and bores perfect. Still be interesting to see the...
