Re: Stock refinished

I do not wet sand mud in to the wood. It leaves an undesireable finish. That is pretty much old technology. I use a suitable water based paint remover, paper towels, and steel wool and the wash off liberally with water, then alcohol. I would avoid soaking in acteone, but would rather wash off to get ol...

Re: Difficulty of finding a forearm??

If you can find the metal ,I can make you a forearm fairly inexpensively.

I'd try to sell the 12 gauge barrel. Finding an action is pretty tough.

Re: Stock removed Now What?? Pictures/Crack

Not a membre here, but will offer my advice. Correct on the oil soak as stated above .Correct, use a good epoxy like Brownell's Acraglass. not just any 5 minute epoxy. On 24hourcampfire forum, there is a poster Sitka Deer. He has a method of using epoxy by heating the stock and then appplying the ep...

Re: Somebody Please Please Help

I have the Firearms Assy/Dissaembly book that shows the FOX B. It expalins that you need a special tool to replace the hammers to get them aligned to put the pin back in . I live out aways from town, and it's at zero degrees here for a few days.If you can wait until I get to a copier,I can send you ...

Re: Info on a different brand of double

I have been trying to register on the double guns forum, but they will not respond with an approval.

If it's 24 or more LPI, I'm in trouble. Can't see that fine anymore even with cheaters and my hands are not that steady

Re: Need some barrel and wood help

After a lot of measuring and a lot of set up time, I used a drill press. Several times when have missed it a little, I do a little bit over size and then Brownel's Accuglas gel to refill the hole, around the tang screw ( using mold release) and then after curing about 4 hours,I remove screw. Then af...

Re: New membre here

The older SterlingworthIhave is about a 1918 version. This gun came out of the Philadelphia area in the late 60's and was sold to the father of a friend of mine. The left barrel blew out about 14-15 inches from the chamber. Inspecting it, I saw that the reamer or drill had walked during fabriaction ...
