Re: Lateral (side to side) trigger play

Check that sear spring real close for a fine crack. A loss of tension there can also cause function problems and not be easily seen. If nothing else shows up, there is probably nothing wrong with changing the pin OD and getting all the bores straight.

Re: Savage Fox question

Those barrels look unblemished compared to the rest of the gun, something is going on there. Just curious, did anybody try a 16 gauge shell in it?

Thanks everybody. Just asked because it looked like a top quality call that I'd never seen before. Besides guns, I collect calls a little bit too,

Craig, your Super is nice but that call looks to be an equally special piece. Who is the maker?

Re: Fox prices strong at small upstate NY auction

That's great Frank. PA gun collectors had a show locally today and the Sterlingworth prices were astronomical.

I've never heard of BLO in this part of the world, I assume that it is an abbreviation for something. Please clue me in. Thanks, Fred

Your best option is a quality wax if you don't care to alter the finish. The results may surprise you.

Re: Press fit bead method?

I'd get a silver bead from Brownells and thread it instead of doing the press fit. Just my opinion, but I'd trust the threads for the long haul over a press fit. Plus if you don't like the color or size it's easy to change.

Re: Barrel removal

B Models do have a single exposed screw. Put the screw back in. Slip your finger into the concave end at the fore end tip under the barrels and pull straight down. Do it over a carpeted floor to avoid any stupid marks in case it gets away from you. It happens to all of us. The wood and the iron have...

Re: Open Chokes on 16 ga SW

I'll second that on Mikes work on a 16SW. Very even close range patterns. I didn't have the work done myself, purchased the gun that way.

Re: Fox SW 16 ga triggers

Short answer is yes. Sterlingworth trigger pulls are generally pretty good. It will have more side to side play than forward slack. Keep in mind that the triggers aren't as elaborate as a repeater type trigger.

Re: A.H. FOX SBT

For a trap gun, it looks like it hasn't been messed with much. On the down side, it looks as though it has a touch of surface rust. I'd guess +\- $3000. The seller seems quite taken with the rarity factor in his pricing.

Yes, you can have an extension welded on to your original trigger guard.
