Your gun was made in 1910. Check this website under Fox Gun Grades-BE Directory for photos of the early and latter B grade models. I don't know your location, but a good double gunsmith can give you an evaluation as to repairs and condition.

I have a 1927 SW 16ga. that's rounded. Interesting question,I never paid any attn. to that before. I also have guns from 1922 and 1919 and they are pointed while the ones 1927 and later are all rounded.

I don't know about anyone else, but A grades without ejectors, 32" bbls. or straight grip or some other less than common features are not going to pull any extra out of my wallet, when compared to a Sterlingworth of equal condition. Maybe it's because I'm more into shooting than collecting. Seem...

You are correct in the assumption that it is indeed a 16 ga. By the serial no.,it was manufactured in 1929. Sterlingworths as well as graded Fox guns were made of modern steels and would be safe to use with current 1oz. ammo. The chambers in a Philla. gun will be short (2 9/16) and will make the gun...

I've also seen a flat spot ground on the middle of the pin for the screw to butt up against. In any case, if you can't turn it, you're in trouble. Good solution Frank, well done.

The old girl sports a pair of #3's. It had a spalled up hard rubber plate on it and I changed to a Galazans 1" pad. Gun weighs in at 7lb 1oz if my scale is right. Haven't hunted much with it yet,but shot some doubles trap a couple times and managed to hit most of 'em. I think it might have a fe...

http://users.zoominternet.net/~fullchoke16/SD530052.JPG Ser. No.26182,30" Chromox,Chokes Full-Imp. Mod. By the wear marks, my guess is that this belonged to a duck hunter, and it led a hard life. Thought about restocking but just went with a refinish. The scars, chip out of fore end and dowel p...
